Bowtaliano recipe

Which is not really italian at all. It is a simple casserole recipe I got out of an old cookbook, and then modified greatly to where it fit our family better, but didn't much resemble to original recipe. It is now a favorite here...everyone LOVED it.

1.5 lbs lean ground beef
1.5 can rotel tomatoes
1 cup onions
1 package bowtie pasta, cooked (we used the vegetable pasta, with green, yellow & orange pasta)
1 container chive and onion cream cheese, softened
1.5 cups sour cream
salt & pepper to taste
1-2 cups shredded cheese of choice

Mix sour cream and cream cheese mixture in a bowl and set to side
Season and brown ground beef to your liking
After it is cooked and drained, add rotel and onion until hot
In a casserole dish, place half of the pasta. Top with hamburger mixture. Plop the creamy mixture around and then spread over the top. Top with other half of noodles and then top that with cheese (or mix the cheese in with the cream cheese sauce, I will do that  next time because I don't like the cheese crust.) Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Let sit 5 minutes and then serve.
